Aliens will continue to live amongst us! Roswell, New Mexico Season 3 is a go. The CW network made the announcement earlier today that the alien romance would be getting another season as part of a massive renewal announcement for 13 of its currently-running shows. Pretty exciting news, considering Roswell, New Mexico Season 2 hasn’t even started airing yet. The show will return for its second season on Monday, March 16th at 9pm ET.
In addition to Roswell, New Mexico, superhero shows Supergirl, Batwoman, Black Lightning, Legends of Tomorrow, and The Flash were all granted additional seasons. Outside of the superhero realm, Riverdale, Nancy Drew, Roswell, New Mexico, All American, Charmed, Dynasty, In the Dark, and Legacies were all picked up again for another season.
Katy Keene, the Riverdale spin-off starring Lucy Hale that premieres on February 6th, was given an additional 13 episodes. The show is also based on the Archie Comics characters. In addition to Hale as the titular character, Ashleigh Murray (aka Josie!), Jonny Beauchamp and Julia Chen also star.
“These early orders for next season give our production teams a head start in plotting out story arcs and a jump on hiring staff, and this also provides us with a strong foundation of established, fan-favorite CW shows to build on for next season,” said CW prez Mark Pedowitz.

“We’ve been thrilled with the creative direction of all three new series,” Pedowitz continued, “and even though we are in the very early stages of our new full stack streaming strategy, which allows viewers to catch up on our new shows from the beginning, we’re already seeing incredibly positive results from our multiplatform viewership for Nancy Drew and Batwoman.”
