Three Fields Entertainment has announced that Dangerous Driving 2 is in the works. This, of course, is the sequel to Dangerous Driving, the high-octane racing game that was developed by a lot of people that previously worked on the Burnout franchise.
The crashing-heavy Dangerous Driving launched in April 2019 and is widely considered to be a spiritual successor to Burnout. This means that Dangerous Driving 2 is the official sequel to that spiritual successor. Does that make sense?
On the company’s official website, as well as sharing the funky artwork that we’ve plonked atop this page, Three Fields Entertainment confirmed a few key features for Dangerous Driving 2. According to the blog post that broke the news of the game’s existence, Dangerous Driving 2 will have split-screen multiplayer, online components from day one, and an open-world for players to explore.
The blog post from Three Fields Entertainment also reveals that Dangerous Driving 2 will be coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The post clarifies that the game will be available on Xbox One X as well as regular Xbox One consoles, and also makes a point of mentioning that this new release will mark the fledgling franchise’s debut on the Switch.

Three Fields Entertainment stopped short of formally announcing the Dangerous Driving 2 release date, but they did give fans a window of time to look for: much like the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5, Dangerous Driving 2 will launch in the holiday season at the end of 2020. We wouldn’t be surprised to learn later that it’s coming to next-gen consoles, too, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
If you’re still playing the first Dangerous Driving game, fear not, Three Fields Entertainment is not ceasing work on it just yet. In fact, it sounds like they’ve got loads of plans to improve the game. In another blog post, the developers detailed their desire to improve handling, fineness roads, deliver more features, and offer more wheel-based options to PC players.
All things considered, then, it sounds like 2020 is going to be a huge year for the Dangerous Driving franchise. We’d expect to hear even more at the end of this month, with Three Fields Entertainment heading to PAX East to show off its slate. If any juicy new details emerge at the event, we’ll be sure to let you know in a speedy fashion.
