Now, though, a blog post reveals that Spyjinx will enter a limited iOS beta in Malaysia and also soon in Australia. As this is a beta, the developers warn everyone that there will be some bugs and other problems that they hope users will report on as they test the experience.
If you happen to be in one of the areas currently scheduled for limited beta testing, you can download it starting now or just sign-up to be notified whenever it will be available in your region. There’s currently no word on if or when the game will be made available for Android users. There’s also no word on a global release date or when this beta will be expanded to other countries.
As you’ve probably already gathered, all of this is a bit odd. We’re five years beyond this game’s announcement, and we’re 4 years past its originally intended release date. Now, we learn that the game is entering a very limited beta in very specific regions which typically aren’t the testing grounds for such potentially notable releases.
What we’re saying is that there are a lot of potential red flags surrounding this project. The premise is interesting, and we actually always root for any mobile game that tries to bring something substantial and interesting to that format, but we’ll need to wait and see how this one plays out.
