Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Best Builds for Every Class

Games

While Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands isn’t as deep of a role-playing game as the looter shooter’s D&D style may lead you to believe it is, the game still lets you create the kind of over-the-top and absurdly powerful character builds the Borderlands games are known for.

In fact, I’d go so far as to say that Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands features my favorite Borderlands character-building system so far. The ability to combine multiple classes when building your character not only opens up a greater vareity of viable build possibilities but really encourages you to explore equipment/strategies in this game that you may have otherwise ignored until you decided to roll another character entirely.

Having said that, this game’s new character build options also introduce a few complications that you’ll need to consider whenever you’re trying to optimize your character and class. In fact, here are a few things to keep in mind about some of the best character builds I’ve found so far:

  • Because you have very little say in what gear you acquire in this game (especially when it comes to Legendary items), I’m not going to recommend specific pieces of equipment for each build. However, you will find recommendations for what kind of gear you should be looking for (when appropriate).
  • Because you’re eventually able to respec your character in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, it doesn’t really matter which class you choose to start with in terms of dual-class build possibilities. However, I’ve decided to focus on builds that allow you to get the most out of your chosen base class before you reach the respec option.
  • Finally, you’ll notice that this guide doesn’t cover “Myth Rank” points (which you continue to acquire after reaching the game’s level cap). That’s because you don’t have a lot of options when it comes to assigning your Myth Rank points to various bonuses. That being the case, you’ll simply want to work through the natural Myth rank progression system and pick the bonuses that offer the most benefits to your build whenever possible.

With that out of the way, here are some of the best Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands builds I’ve found so far:

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Best Brr-Zerker Build – The Brr-Zerker/Stabbomancer “Ice Pick” Build

The generally high power level of frost damage in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands means that Brr-Zerkers are blessed with quite a few viable build options. As long as your maximizing a Brr-Zerkers’ frost damage potential, you’re probably building them the right way.

However, this “Ice Pick” build is absolutely one of the best Brr-Zerker builds I’ve seen so far.

This build is all about moving quickly and dealing massive amounts of frost-enhanced melee damage as you bounce between enemies. The Brr-Zerker side of the skill tree grants you raw attack power and durability, while the Stabbomancer skills greatly increase your critical hit potential and movement speed. Maybe there are other build options that will ultimately allow you to deal more frost damage, but the thing I like about this build is that it plays into that “stick and move” style that most Brr-Zerker users will want to rely on during late-game challenges.

You’ll still need to weave gunfire and spell damage into this build, but the majority of your damage will come from melee attacks and action skills. Once you get a feel for juggling your skills in a way that allows you to take full advantage of your “on-kill” cooldown restoration abilities, you’ll be able to spam your best attacks and minimize the risk you usually face by going toe-to-toe with foes.

So far as your stats go, you want to invest heavily into Strength and Dexterity relatively early on. It’s also a good idea to spend a few points on your Constitution (especially during the early parts of the game when you’re a little more vulnerable). You’ll also want to raise your Attunement at some point, though that stat isn’t as important until later in the game.

Prioritize any gear that increases your movement speed, melee attack speed/damage, and survivability, but don’t be afraid to use a really good weapon just because it doesn’t easily “fit” into this build. Actually, it’s not a bad idea to compensate for some of this build’s weaknesses by choosing a gun or two that allows you to work from a distance when possible.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Best Brr-Zerker Build

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Best Clawbringer Build – The Clawbringer/Spore Warden “Ele-Mental” Build

To be honest, I generally find Clawbringers to be a better secondary class. Some of their early abilities offer a huge boost to the things that Brr-Zerkers, Graveborns, and Spellshots already tend to do better than this class does.

If you’re looking to play as a Clawbringer from the start, though, then I recommend working towards this hybrid build that allows you to get the most out of a Clawbringer’s various elemental abilities.

The basic idea here is to use Spore Warden’s Bounty of the Hunt skill to lower the long cooldown of Clawbringer’s devastating Storm Smite skill. While you still won’t be able to rely on Storm Smite as often as you’d like, this build excels at getting the most out of a Clawbringer’s basic attacks/skills in a way that makes the time between those Storm Smite attacks feel a little more productive than usual.

This build also gives you access to another companion, which greatly enhances both your damage capabilities and your survivability. Actually, the lethal combo of fire+poison those companions provide can absolutely shred through certain enemy types.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that you’re eventually looking to invest heavily into Attunement with this build, but I honestly recommend focusing on Wisdom and Strength during the early parts of the game. Attunement doesn’t become as important until a little later in the game, and those other stats will certainly help keep you alive until then.

You can choose gear and spells that will enhance your companions’ damage output, but I generally find that it’s better to focus on dealing as much elemental damage as possible from as many sources as possible.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Best Graveborn Build – The Graveborn/Spore Warden “BFF Companions” Build

Graveborn is honestly one of the best classes in the game so far as build versatility goes. A lot of classes can benefit from being paired with a Graveborn, and late-game Graveborn builds can go in a lot of different directions depending on your secondary class choice.

That being said, it’s really hard to beat this companion-based build that combines the best qualities of the Graveborn and Spore Warden classes.

Simply put, this build is designed to give the Graveborn an extra companion that allows them to maximize the already high damage potential of their companion-based skills and abilities. While Graveborns themselves become even stronger whenever they have both companions out, the thing that makes this particular build so special is the fact that it turns your companions into complete powerhouses.

Seriously, I’ve seen this build’s companions melt through the toughest enemies in the game while taking little to no damage. You wouldn’t think that the ability to summon the Spore Warden’s companion would make the Graveborn so much more powerful, but that companion’s abilities (as well as some of the Spore Warden’s skills) naturally enhance everything the Graveborn is looking to do. You don’t even have to go out of your way to make this build work as well as it does. Just keep buffing your character, let those buffs pass naturally to your companions, and try not to let your jaw hit the floor as you watch what your squad is capable of.

On that note, you should learn to love any gear that enhances your companions’ abilities or lets you “over level” some of your key companion skills. You don’t need to fully kit yourself out with companion-based gear, but a little extra help in that area does go a long way.

Stat-wise, you’re looking for a pretty even spread of Intelligence, Wisdom, and Attunement. You can even lower your Constitution a bit if you’re looking to raise one of those other attributes. Ultimately, you just want to make sure that you’re able to use your buffs and other companion-based abilities as often as possible.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Best Graveborn Build

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Best Spellshot Build – The Spellshot/Graveborn “Spells From Hell” Build

Spellshots tend to do pretty well for themselves without a lot of help, but if you’re looking to get the most out of that mage-like class, you’ll want to eventually pair them with a Graveborn.

While some builds in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands are designed to compensate for a base class’ natural weaknesses, this build is all about playing to the Spellshot’s strengths. By incorporating a few Graveborn abilities into their skill tree, Spellshots are not only able to enhance the power level of their already potent speels but grant themselves extra chances to trigger some of their unique spell-based interactions.

At a minimum, this build greatly increases your base spell damage and allows Spellshots to deal extra dark magic damage without changing their combat strategy. However, this build really shines once you’ve found a good collection of elemental-based guns. At that point, most of your spells will buff your guns, and most bullets you fire will make your spells more powerful than they already are. You’ll still find yourself relying on your spells in most situations, but learning when to turn to your guns is the key to seeing what this build is really capable of.

In fact, this build’s chosen skills are going to offer so many natural spell damage multipliers and cooldown benefits that I actually recommend focusing on your critical hit stats. If that’s just not working for you for whatever reason, though, feel free to invest a few more points into lowering your cooldown times.

Gear-wise, anything that offers even more spell damage is typically optimal, but you’re ultimately always looking for two spells you really like. You’ll be relying on those spells often, so be sure to choose ones that are individually powerful and allow you to deal with both waves of smaller targets and more powerful solo foes.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Best Spore Warden Build – The Spore Warden/Stabbomancer “Critical LOL” Build

Much like Spellshots, Spore Wardens tend to do pretty well for themselves even before you start experimenting with multi-class builds. However, their synergy with the Stabbomancer class is as obvious as it is powerful.

This build is all about generating as many powerful critical attacks as you possibly can while constantly staying on the move. It’s similar to the Brr-Zerker build we talked about above in that last respect, but the big difference here is that you’re going to deal most of your damage at long ranges rather than through melee attacks. In fact, you’re almost never going to be using melee attacks with this particular build. Most of your damage will come through your abilities, companions, and your guns. Seriously, you really don’t need to go out of your way to make this build work. Just keep doing most of the things you were already doing with your Spore Warden.

Speaking of which, it’s important to find the right element-based guns for this build in order to take full advantage of Stabbomancers’ Exploit Their Weakness skill and Spore Warden’s various damage enhancement skills. This build is strong enough to overcome some initially weak gear, but it really sings once you get the right late-game pieces in place.

Stats-wise, you’re going to want to invest heavily into Strength with this build as the majority of your damage will come from critical hits one way or the other. Dexterity is probably your second most important stat, though it’s worth noting your chosen skills will naturally raise your critical hit chances. Once you have your primary stats in place, start focusing on raising your Wisdom and Attunement.

Finally, Spore Warden players looking for something a bit more outside of the box should consider checking out Spore Warden/Brr-Zerker builds as well as Spore Warden/Spellshot builds. The former really leans heavily into elemental damage, while the latter opens up new spell damage/ability damage possibilities.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Best Stabbomancer Build – The Stabbomancer/Spellshot “Shadow Magic” Build

Truth be told, Stabbomancer players are ultimately better off going with variations of the Brr-Zerker or Spore Warden builds I outlined above. You may have to play with the exact stats/skill points a bit if you’re starting off as a Stabbomancer rather than one of those other classes, but those are both fantastic multi-class options.

For variety’s sake, though, let’s talk about a somewhat unusual Stabbomancer build that is just a little better than you might think it is.

The few Spellshot skills this build incorporates are really just there to increase your reload speed, generate more critical hits with spells, and ultimately raise your chances of proccing the Stabbomancers’ Executioner’s Blade skill. I know that doesn’t sound very exciting, but without those skills, Stabbomancer’s spells are often just kind of…there. They’ll help you out from time to time, but you’ll struggle to find a home for them.

With those extra Spellshot skills, though, you’ll finally be able to weave spells into your Stabbomancer rotation in a way that feels much more organic and satisfying. You won’t suddenly become a spell-slinging powerhouse, but you’ll finally fill in the one gaping hole in the Stabbomancer’s natural game plan.

Your stats in this build should obviously focus on further increasing your critical hit chances/damage, but you’ll eventually want to invest a few points into your Wisdom, Constitution, and Attunement as well. You’ll also want to be sure that your gear, guns, and spells all benefit from critical hits (or bolster your critical hit chances/power) as much as possible.

It’s also worth noting that I’ve seen some players go deeper into the Spellshot tree with this build by sacrificing a few Stabbomancer skills, and I find that approach to be…interesting. I think that could be a great way to the best way to balance a Spellshot’s blend of gunfire and magic, but if you’re looking to focus more on the Stabbomancer side of things, I’d tend to recommend something closer to this build:
