Halo: Reach PC – Release Date, Trailer, Gameplay, and News

Games

Bungie’s final Halo game, the prequel Halo: Reach, is finally coming to The Master Chief Collection. The port was announced during an Inside Xbox broadcast. Reach will be ported over to the Xbox One and is also part of a series of releases that will see The Master Chief Collection finally arrive on PC through the Microsoft Store and, surprisingly, Steam.

“We’re going to roll out each of the games in The MCC one by one,” developer 343 Industries representative said in a statement. “Steam for us is a new opportunity. We want to bring our games to players … to the platforms of their choice.”

Halo: Reach will be the first of the PC ports. The rest of The MCC, which also includes Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo: ODST, and Halo 4 will also receive staggered releases in 2020.

Since the launch of The Master Chief Collection, many fans have wondered when they’d finally see Reach join the collection. After all, it wasn’t long before the excellent ODST joined the ranks for the four numbered installments. Beyond the tearjerker campaign, Reach also introduced some pretty neat new concepts to Halo multiplayer, including jetpacks, which completely changed the way players traversed maps during firefights. It remains to be seen if Reach‘s fun Firefight horde mode will make a return as well.

Halo: Reach PC and Xbox One Story

For those of you who missed the most tragic installment of the original Bungie series, Halo: Reach follows the exploits of Noble Team, a group Spartan super soldiers who we know are doomed to die from the very start of the game. You play as Noble Six, a new member of the team, as he fights his way through the worst first day on the job that you can possibly imagine. When a massive Covenant invasion force arrives at Noble Team’s home base on Reach, all hell breaks loose and it’s up to Noble Team to defend the planet and deliver some very precious cargo before the enemy can get its hands on it.

While the game doesn’t star the Master Chief or Cortana, fans hoping to catch glimpses of these two will not be disappointed. That said, Noble Team features a compelling cast of characters in its own right.
