Ever since debuting on a local UHF station one November night in 1988, Mystery Science Theater 3000 has always been connected to Thanksgiving. It makes enough sense. The show is about a man and his two robot friends having to sit back and watch whatever for a few hours while Thanksgiving is about being stuck with your family and being so full of food that all you can do is sit back and watch whatever with them. Well, there’s always been the viable option of spending that time watching classic MST3K episodes.
When is the MST3K Turkey Day Marathon?
The MST3K Turkey Day Marathon has long been a staple of the show’s existence, even (perhaps especially) during the show’s lengthy hiatus. Now we’re heading for yet another round as the traditional Mystery Science Theater 3000 Thanksgiving marathon will arrive on schedule on November 28, hosted by Shout Factory.
Starting at 12pm ET, we’ll be seeing six beloved episodes (hand-picked by series creator Joel Hodgson) hosted by Tom Servo and Crow. As last year showed us, even the episodes from the new Netflix seasons are game, as fan-favorite Cry Wilderness was part of the broadcast.
How to Watch the MST3K Turkey Day Marathon
This time around, there will be plenty of places to catch the feed. There’s the MST3K YouTube Channel, their new Twitch channel, the MST3K channel on Pluto TV, and more. I’ll just let the robots describe it.

Speaking of the Twitch channel, they’re doing a pretty nifty lead-up gimmick where starting on Wednesday, November 20th at 1 ET, they’re going to be streaming a week’s worth of classic episodes in chronological order. Sure, it’s not going to be EVERY episode due to lousy rights issues (circulate those tapes, folks!), but there will be plenty of episodes to see.

Fingers crossed that we’ll get some kind of announcement about a thirteenth season. Things have been rather up in the air for a while. MST3K season 12 was less than half as long as Season 11 and the claim was that it meant they could release more seasons in less time. So far that hasn’t been the case. While Joel has been doing the live tour, there has been zero mention of MST3K’s future.
If we don’t hear anything on Thanksgiving, we may not hear anything for a long, long time.
