AFTERBUZZ TV — The 100 edition, is a weekly “after show” for fans of CW’s The 100. In this show, hosts Taylor Gates, Cherry Davis, and Vanise Syarie discuss episode 3.

ABOUT THE 100:
The series is set 97 years after a devastating nuclear war wiped out almost all life on Earth. The only known survivors are the residents of twelve space stations in Earth’s orbit prior to the war. The space stations banded together to form a single massive station named “The Ark”, where about 2,400 people live under the leadership of Chancellor Jaha. Resources are scarce and all crimes, no matter their nature or severity, are punishable by ejection into space (“floating”) unless the perpetrator is under 18 years of age. After the Ark’s life-support systems are found to be critically failing, 100 juvenile prisoners are declared “expendable” and sent to the surface—nearby former Washington, D.C.—in a last ditch attempt to determine if Earth is habitable again in a program called “The 100”, for which the show is named. The teens arrive on a seemingly pristine planet they have only seen from space. They are meant to find refuge and supplies at the old military installation in Mount Weather. However, they have landed a fair distance from it and soon face other problems. Confronting both the wonders and the dangers of this rugged new world, they struggle to form a tentative community. However, they discover not all humanity was wiped out; some people on Earth, called Grounders, survived the war, and there are even more dangers lurking – Reapers (Grounders who have become cannibals) and Mountain Men (who live in Mount Weather, the original destination of the 100).

ABOUT SENSE 8:

Sense8 (a play on the word sensate /ˈsɛnseɪt/, meaning aware) is an American science fiction drama web television series created, written and executive-produced by Andy and Lana Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski. A first season consisting of 12 episodes has been produced and became available for streaming on Netflix on June 5, 2015. The Wachowskis are responsible for the direction of the biggest part of the show, with the rest of it being handled by a number of people they have collaborated with in the past, including Cloud Atlas co-director Tom Tykwer. Meanwhile this is the first series produced under the banner of Straczynski’s Studio JMS. The plot revolves around eight strangers from different parts of the world who suddenly become mentally and emotionally linked and it is set to explore subjects that its writers felt science fiction shows, at least ostensibly, tend to ignore or skim through such as politics, identity, sexuality, gender and religion.

Arrow is an American television series developed by writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg. It is based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, a costumed crime-fighter who was created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp. It premiered in North America on The CW on October 10, 2012, with international broadcasting taking place in late 2012. The series follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, portrayed by Stephen Amell, who, after five years of being stranded on a hostile island, returns home to fight crime and corruption as a secret vigilante whose weapon of choice is a bow and arrow. Unlike in the comic books, Oliver does not go by the alias “Green Arrow” in the television series. Arrow also features appearances by other DC Comics characters.
The series takes a realistic look at the Green Arrow character, as well as other characters from the DC Comics universe. Arrow has received generally positive reviews from critics, and was the highest rated new series on the CW in past five years up to its release. The series averaged approximately 3.68 million viewers over the course of the first season, and has garnered multiple award nominations and three wins. To assist in promotion, a preview comic book was released before the television series began, while webisodes featuring a product tie-in with Bose were developed for the second season. The first season is available on DVD and Blu-ray in regions 1, 2 and 4 and a soundtrack of it also been released. The second season of Arrow premiered on October 9, 2013, and is available on DVD and Blu-ray in regions 1, 2 and 4 and two versions of a soundtrack of it also been released.
On February 13, 2014, The CW renewed the series for a third season, which premiered on October 8, 2014. A spin-off series set in the same universe, titled The Flash, began airing on the CW on October 7, 2014.
